The contest runs between 01 February 2024and 01 December 2024.
You read it right! you will have almost a whole year to make a model!
Models must be made by hand, as we wish to stimulate crafting.
Models can be made from any material including plastic kits, random object, trash, you name it!
Models may consist up to roughly 10% – 20% of 3d printed parts. This is an indication and will be subject to the discretion of the judges. In case of doubt, please send a message to peculiarrobotcontest@gmail.com.
Models need to be new, no entering of finished models. They do not have to be exclusive for this competition, so if you would like to enter another competition that allows this, it’s fine with us. All we want is for you to make a new, cool and weird model during the contest duration.
There can only be one entry per participant. Though it is possible to switch entries up until the deadline.
Each entry needs at least:
Your name/nickname, instagram or facebook name,and entry name (every mech needs a name right?).
Picture of the start of the build containing the main ‘ingredients’ and a piece of paper with the participants name and date of starting written down in pencil or pen. Coloured pencils are encouraged, we like flair.
6 work in progress pictures at various stages of the build, with the previously written piece of paper in clear view, one of these must be the naked model pre-painting (as far as this is possible).
6 finished pictures of the build, 4 of which need to be overview pictures from various angles, and 2 can be glamour shots or pictures of specific details the participant wishes to emphasise.
Posting work in progress pictures in the Facebook group is not obligatory, but we would love to see how you progress throughout the build.
Entries will only be considered if they are sent to peculiarrobotcontest@gmail.com before 01 December 2024, and include your name/nickname, your instagram or facebook name, the entry name, and all relevant pictures (1 pre-build, in 6 progress and 6 finished) with the name/date paper.
